I've settled in nicely, and have been keepin' up wit a new set o' pirate friends. I was goin' to go to a Pirate con this summer, but time and money be keepin' me far from my Pira' kin.
Well, off to work!

Yarr, I again be so sorry with how long it be since I updated. But, aye, last time I checked in I was fired from me job at Long John Silvers. Again, it be because they not be understanding my lifestyle, and that truly be tragic.
Anyway, in other news I be trying to get me a new job. It be not easy, as even the most places that be lookin' pirate friendly are not. Like Hot Topic. They be sellin' all this PIRATE merchandise for POSERS who think that they can be pirates but be not truly into it. There be nothing Pirate about Hello Kitty with an eyepatch. Most of me other pirate crewmates are happy about the new onset of pirate merchandise and pirate themed outfits, but to me it just means we be getting filled with posers who truly do not understand. They just want to LOOK COOL but ye know they know not of the true spirit of bein a pirate.
They did not hire me at Hot Topic.
They did not hire me at the local pirate theme resturant.
They did not hire me at Disneyland.
No one understands.
No one understands.

I be sorry about the lack of updates, but I have sad news.
Yarr, I was finally fired from Long John Silvers.
I came into work one fine morn, the sun shining brightly on my portside, when a customer came up to me.
"SIR," the salty wench exclaimed, "I asked for light breading on these shrimp!"
"Yarr, I knows. I gave ye the lightest breading you kin have!"
"What the hell are you talking about?"
"If I were to give it any lighter breading, it be a non-breaded piece of food!"
"WHY ARE YOU TALKING LIKE THAT!??! ARE YOU MOCKING ME?!?!"
"What? Nay, it just be my language!"
"HOW DARE YOU! HOW DARE, HOW DARE YOU! Let me SPEAK TO YOUR MANAGER!"
"Yarr? Why, wench?"
"THAT'S IT! I'M NEVER COMING IN AGAIN!"
And with that, the filthy wench left. My manager came up to me and asked what happened, and when I explained it he said I would be written up.
When I asked why, he said that "my stupid pirate pretending" was getting in the way of me work. I told him that it was nary not pretending, but truly who I was. He got terribly angry, and with the force of an angry Poseidon, he told me never to come in again, as I was fired.
So now I currently be out of a job. I am writing some freelance to certain pirate lifestylers 'zines, but other than that it's been not the best of times for this mariner.
I be wondering, however, if I could be suing for discrimination? Do any of ye have any ideas of what sort of person I could contact for legal help?

So today be a bad one at work. I was fryin' th' shrimp, mindin' me own business when someone said "Hey Pirate!" I turned round to see what they be talking about, and there was this group of land lubbers just watchin' me. They be talking about the "weird pirate dude" at the workplace and how crazy he be.
Sigh. People just don't understand.

So today me boss made me clean out t'fry machine. Yarr... I went out with some moreo'me pirate buckos and attemptedt'pillage a local grocery store, but t'cops were called on us before we could do it. I be so sick o' the whole anti-pirate sentiment in me town, too. I wish I lived in a progressive town that accepted me piracy.

Yarr, I be apologizing for the lack of updates, for I be busy with work.
Because I be a pirate lifestyler, 'tis hard to find me a job that can embrace the fact that I am actually a pirate born in a landlubbers body. For those of ye who don't know what a PL is, I'll lay it down.
A PL, or Yarries as we like to be called, is a way of life. We believe (nay, know) that we are descendants of the great pirates before us. We feel a strong connection with Pirates and the pirate way of life. From scurvy to parrots, we ARE pirates (but without the whole going out to sea thing).
I know a few other Yarries like me, and we go about to Yarrie conventions and such, donning our fine pirate garb and such. Me, I like to wear me garb wherever I go, since it shows me and who I be. Sadly, the world is a cruel and harsh place for the Yarries, as no one understands why we delliberatly give ourselves dysentary and other Pirate related diseases. I tell them that we be PIRATES, and thusly we must BE like the pirate. Alas, people just don't understand. :(
So, arr, I did get a job as a chef at a local Long John Silvers. They do not mind the costume, and they let me wear it instead of the standard uniform.
Update later after me shift. I be deep frying cod tonight. Yarr....
